FREE Starbucks for riding Lyft. Starbucks and Lyft recently announced a partnership that will reward both drivers and passengers. Lyft is trying to build loyalty among its user base and those addicted to coffee and rewards may think of Lyft first when looking for a ride.
Earlier this year, Uber partnered with Starwood so riders can earn SPG points as well as Uber + Capital One for 20% statement credits. Lyft is spending a lot of money to keep up with Uber — for example paying bonuses up to $750 for new drivers. Partnerships like this will certainly help.
FREE STARBUCKS DRINKS + OTHER PERKS:
- Earn Starbucks stars when you ride Lyft — which can be redeemed for free Starbucks drinks and food
- Drivers will instantly get Starbucks Gold Status.
- Passengers will be able to gift a coffee to a driver from the app (I think drivers would prefer a cash tip)

FREE RIDES FOR BARISTAS
Lyft will also be testing a program to give free rides to Starbucks baristas when they need it most. Perhaps that means during hours when public transportation is not running as frequently. I'm sure Starbucks employees will welcome this with open arms!
