55K Signup Bonus: Amex Everyday 25K + Amex Everyday Preferred 30K Offers

Updated on November 17, 2015

10/15/15 Update: I have had 2 readers notify me during the past few hours that the 2nd application gets cancelled by Amex.  Upon calling the Amex reconsideration line, they are told both cards were from “the same family” so the 2nd application is automatically cancelled.  I would hold off on applying until I find out more details… stay tuned.

Amex Everyday 25K + Amex Everyday Preferred 30K Offers = 55K Bonus MR Points

I posted yesterday about a publicly available 30k Signup Bonus for the Amex Everyday Preferred credit card. Reader Jules asks: Can I get the bonus for both the Amex everyday and the Amex everyday preferred?

Answer: Yes – you qualify for both signup bonuses so long as you have never had each of the products before.  Amex recently enforced a once per lifetime policy on all of its personal credit cards and charge cards.  Business credit cards and charge cards, on the other hand, do not have this stringent policy, and only require a 12 month cooling off period before one can qualify for the signup bonus again.

Unfortunately, both the 25k Amex EveryDay and the 30k Amex Everyday Preferred cards are personal American Express cards, so only first time applicants are eligible for the signup bonus.

If you are are a first time applicant, below are the highlights and instructions on how to get these increased signup offers.

How Many Amex Cards Can I Have At One Time?

Good question. According to this flyertalk forum, there is a limit of 4 American Express credit cards (aka as revolving cards that allow you to carry a balance) at one time. MillionMileSecrets discusses this further.

According to American Express online chat, we can have 18 cards: “you can have up to 9 personal cards and 9 business cards” and charge vs credit card do not matter (see screen shot below). Then I asked the new accounts team by phone. I ended up having a lengthy discussion with vague answers and no hard facts before I got disconnected. Maybe Hurricane Joaquin doesn't want me to know the real answers!

    • YMMV – you can try and ask; worse case amex says no. I have historically had success though recent data points on FT suggest Amex is not as lenient these days.

  1. I use two browse trick to apply these two cards…one is instant approval but another one is cancelled…is this common?
