Starwood SPG Double Elite Stay Credit

I love this SPG promotion which comes around from time to time and this time I qualify. SPG sent me the above email with the subject “Earn Twice As Fast”. Targeted members who are eligible will earn double elite qualifying nights and stays from August 15, 2016, through November 15, 2016.

I'm currently about 1/2 way to the required 25 stays / 50 nights required to re-qualify for Platinum status. This will make it much easier. I'm now revising some reservations I booked with only points to include one paid night to take advantage of this – instead of 2 nights booked on points, the first night will be cash and second will be points.

The Catch

• You have to pay the CASH rate to qualify
• Free Night Award stays and Cash & Points Award stays are not eligible as part of this promotion.
• Bonus nights and stays will not count towards your lifetime status.

Selected eligible members must register by October 15, 2016, 11:59 p.m. ET. Member will earn double elite qualifying nights and stays at any of the more than 1,300 SPG^®participating properties from August 15, 2016, through November 15, 2016, but only after registration occurs. Promotion is not retroactive for nights/stays completed before registration.

SPG participating properties can be found at spg.com/terms under section 1.2. An eligible stay is defined as one or more consecutive nights paying a qualifying rate in the same hotel regardless of the number of check-ins or checkouts that occur and post to the member's Starwood Preferred Guest^® account after registration. A qualifying rate is any rate that is eligible to earn Starpoints^® in the Starwood Preferred Guest program.
