UPDATE: Offer is back $50 Amazon Gift card when you sign up. Expires 9/30/17.
MealPal.com is offering $50 Amazon Gift Card if you sign up for a 20-meal subscription plan today only (10/18/16) and a $30 Amazon Gift Card with the 12-meal plan. It's not for everyone but still an interesting idea: you get a discounted lunch in exchange for a monthly fee of $6.39 x 12 meals = $76.68 or $5.99 x 20 meals = $119.80, which automatically renews unless you cancel. The details of this offer and details of how the service works do not appear on the website.
UPDATE: EXPIRED – Today 10/25/16 only get $40/$30 off the 20/12 meal plan
Should You Sign Up?
This could be a good deal if you have a lot of participating options near you (like Midtown, New York City) and you are not too picky. Check out MealPal's twitter feed to get an idea of what people have been ordering.
There aren't enough choices in my area and I'm picky when it comes to my meals (I usually go for healthy options). I'm also not a fan of automatically renewing subscriptions (though Citi's temporary virtual credit card numbers can fix that) and don't want to deal with the hassle of remembering to put my order in every day before 9:30am. For those reasons, I'm not signing up.
Expires at 11:59pm local time on Tuesday, October 18, 2016
The Catch
- You have to order the meal ahead of time, between 5 p.m. the night before to 9:30 the morning of the lunch.
- Pick up only (no deliveries)
- Forfeit any missed meals (the 12 meal plan is better if you are worried about that)
- Choices are limited to participating restaurants and as I understand it, limited options (one?) at each restaurant.

Fine Print
$50 Amazon gift card will be sent via email after completion of your first full cycle on the 20 meal plan. If you select the 12 meal plan in check out, you will receive a $30 Amazon gift card. Your subscription will renew automatically for 30 day cycles until you cancel. You may cancel at any time.
This offer is valid for new MealPal customers only.
Thanks for posting. This is such an interesting concept. It took me a while to find a map with restaurants available, but I found it at the bottom of the company’s website. I work in New York’s financial district so this will be fun to try! I live uptown though, and I see they don’t have any options there.
Just added the link to the delivery map. https://mealpal.com/ (at the bottom).
The amazon gift card offer expired last month.
It’s back again… hence the update. They do offer it from time to time.
