Get 25,000 American Airline miles when you sign up for DirecTV (its a 2 year contract).
I'm still waiting to find a good deal on a TV for my new place so I can't use this but for those of you considering DIRECTV, 25,000 extra AA miles is a nice bonus. That's enough miles for a domestic round trip ticket on American. I doubt I will ever sign up for cable or satellite, however, since I can get everything I need from the internet (I use Netflix, Amazon Prime and Hulu (the free version)).
Promotion ends: October 1, 2014
Here are the details from American Airlines/DirecTV

This offer worked for me. Received 25K AAdvantage miles after a few weeks from DirecTV. Cool.
Also signed up with CITI AA signature VISA and received 25K more AAdvantage Miles.
$80 one way charge on last minute flights, and you use 12.5K miles.
I know this is old but they are doing this again now, expires May 2015..
It says you have to sign a 2 year agreement but it doesn’t say any details about whether or not you can cancel that agreement later..
I am thinking of doing this, as the price of DirecTV for a couple months (usually the length of time you need to stay onboard to get miles) is way less than the cost of a round-trip ticket.
Once miles are awarded can you cancel and still keep the miles? I know they may charge a cancellation fee..
Thanks for the update! I haven’t done this myself but generally, once the miles get deposited to your frequent flier account, I haven’t heard of them being reversed. They will likely just charge you the cancel fee.
