Want a free meal? Doordash is hungry for new customers and back with a new promo. You $15 off a food delivery if you are a new user. This is a big jump versus the usual $5 off to $7 it's been for the past year and $10 off in 2015. TryCaviar.com, a competitor is currently offering $20 to new users. It's a good time to try both services given the bigger than usual sign up bonus!

Still haven't heard of Doordash? They finished mid-pack in my favorite food app delivery poll. Doordash is a little different than most food delivery apps because they have their own delivery crew – it's Lyft for food. It's similar to Postmates. Why does it matter? Because they will deliver food from restaurants that don't deliver so you have more options! Their restaurant parts no longer need delivery drivers.

SERVICE FEES

Doordash does add a service fee to their delivery but with $15 off its definitely worth trying out. Yes, that's separate from the tip. With Caviar, I avoid the extra fees by picking up the food on my way home when possible. Doordash doesn't yet offer a pickup option.

WHATS NEW?

The company was able to raise big money ($127 million) to help them expand from 3 markets to 22 in 11 months. As a result, Doordash expanded outside of the Manhattan area and into New Jersey, Connecticut, and other parts of NYC. I first wrote about Doordash when I started using them in 2015. I wasn't sure they would survive but looks like they are doing much better now!
