$8 Lyft Line Rides in New York City

I have been using Lyft Line since it came out.  The rides are much cheaper than regular Lyft plus a nice perk – I get a fixed price quote (regular Lyft does not give any quote at all).  Now, those who receive this offer can ride for only $8 if you stay within one of two Happy Hour Happy District zones. You can even go into Brooklyn and Long Island City!

Check your emails to see if you are eligible.  Perhaps they are trying to compete with Gett's $10 midtown rides.   Hat tip to Dave for forwarding this.  I haven't been selected for this offer yet but I emailed Lyft to see if they would add it for me (I will post an update when they respond).

For a limited time, Lyft Line rides that start and end within the same Drive Happy District – either Zone 1 or Zone 2 – are automatically discounted to $8. The discount won't apply to rides that travel between or outside the districts, so check out the map below to make sure you get the best deal. Pro tip: It's all about 14th Street.

TESTING IT OUT

I checked the price to go as far as possible within the zone. Even though there was 100% Prime Time for regular Lyft (they charge 100% extra due to high demand), Lyft Line was just $8.

For those who are not eligible, the regular price for Lyft Line would be $25.05 (with 100% Prime Time surcharge)!
