$100 Mercedes Benz Gift Certificate

One of the perks of the American Express Platinum – Mercedes Benz card is a $100 gift card valid for accessories at a Mercedes-Benz dealership. This certificate might go unused for many people…but I don't like to let things go to waste.

We stopped by a local dealership, asked about buying accessories, then headed to the back service/parts area. The employee said the selection would be larger after the coming renovation so if you look for a larger dealer you can probably find more options. The only thing that I might actually use is the umbrellas which were not on display. While we shopped, we had access to a coffee machine and some plastic wrapped half-bagels (all of which looked as good as hospital cafeteria food).

This benefit does not really offset much of the large annual fee for the Mercedes Benz Platinum card. The total value to me is approx $25.

We used our $100 Certificate for…

The total came to slightly over $100 but the rep adjusted it to exactly $100.

I received my certificate in the mail less than 2 weeks after I made my first charge on the card. It comes automatically without any additional steps.

All too often, employees don't know how to process these types of gift certificates and the hassle makes it not worth redeeming. But…luckily this was not one of those times. My order was entered into the computer and I was on my way without wasting too much time.
