I am trying to get in touch with lyft! How can I contact Lyft?

Whats the fastest way to contact Lyft customer service? It seems impossible to contact Lyft when you need them, right? There are quite a few ways to get in touch with Lyft customer service. The best way for most people to reach Lyft is by sending an email through Lyft's website or via Twitter for quick questions. If it is critical, see the Critical Response info below. I usually get a response the same day via email and within a couple hours via twitter. I'll explain all the ways to get your questions answered:

For emergencies, call 911 first!

For urgent driver or passenger safety issues including accidents or citations, the number to call was 855-865-9553 but it no longer works. Instead click here or the pink button below to have Lyft call you. The above number now just refers you to their website. Most other issues can be handled using one of the below options. Unfortunately, there is no Lyft Customer Service phone number but they are usually pretty good about responding using one of the following methods. NOTE: This is NOT for billing problems, complaints, etc, you wont get help with those non-urgent questions and will be told to use one of the other methods here. I often wish I could get them on the phone but this is not the way.

Support requests should be sent via their website. You will receive an email confirmation with a copy of your request. Once they reply, you'll be able to email back and forth with support@lyft.com. Go through the website first otherwise your email support@lyft.com will get bounced back with a message to use the website.       I think you may have forgotten to enter the promocode. Press the top left button on the app then Payments then enter FIFTYGO in the “Add Credit/Gift Code” and see you get your credit.

    • My ride was too much . I was told it would be one price and I was charged 38.45. For a 6.8 mile trip what a rip-off . I will not be calling Lyft ever again.

    • Daphne – it’s a crowded dance floor, complaints about Lyft. I couldn’t reach a ride yesterday, had to take THREE buses to get home. Got charged $17 for anon-pickup. Today I needed a ride but they had my pickup at my destination site. So? A $17 charge on my bank statement. Now I gotta get my bank to dispute those 2 charges. Imagine how many millions of these complaints go out EVERY DAY. GOODBYE, LIFT.

  2. As per my experience, Lyft Facebook page is the best way to contact them when having issues. They respond promptly to private messages but wall posts and comments get swift attention. As for sending an email through their website, it is important to be as precise and brief as you can because chances are, you will just get a canned response when you write a very long description of your concern.       I received no real response online or getting a call from Lyft per my request. The story re my experience with the Lyft driver and the unfair and excessive charges does not fit with their canned categories of criticisms. Do you have a correct phone number for Lyft? Incorrect #s recorded online according to some people. The amount later charged to my credit card was $20 more than quoted. The amount quoted has disappeared from my iPhone screen so how would I dispute it? The driver claimed my order was canceled & I would receive charges after I was left off at Chicago’s O’Hare airport.

    I am the GM for 3 Midas Auto Service Centers in Renton, West Seattle, and Kent, WA. I have been doing vehicle inspections for Lyft just like we do for Uber. I had a customer come back and tell us he was refused because we were not an accredited auto repair on your list. This does not make sense when other franchised Midas owners are in the north end. How do we get accredited otherwise?

    • You’re yelling at the wrong guy. I’m not Lyft and they don’t read this. Try contacting their background check company Sterling tel:800-899-2272 – maybe they will tell you why you were rejected.

  8. On Saturday June 3rd I happened to be behind a LYFT driver at a red light. The light was red,
    but allowed a turn on red after coming to a stop. there was a vehicle in front of the Lyft driver
    was not turning. The Lyft driver started beeping her horn and yelling at the car in front of her,
    using very obscene language. In our state you to DO NOT HAVE to turn on red, it is an option.
    The license plate number was Massachusetts – 622WF.

  9. Just an FYI, the number you provided may have at one time been been a customer service line. Now it simply tells you via recorded message to visit their website and email any questions or concerns or to dial 911 if it’s an emergency and then hangs up.

  10. On April 3 I took lyft from work. At 7:30 An I contacted lyft to let them know I had left my phone. I sent my emails because you can’t get a human on the phone. Today is the 7th the driver no longer answers. An I can’t get to my email. All my pass codes an personal info. I have lost work because of my boss’s not being able to reach me. They have a clause people ! They can hold your personal property for 72 hours ! Well my 72 hours is up still no phone. No contact from them still. My ride was from Waffle House on Dacula to my home. They don’t care if my life is falling apart. An my job is in jeopardy ! I am having to post this off my brothers page,because I can no longer retrieve my Facebook or my email ? Funny my pass codes have been changed ? Go figure !

  11. My husband is new to driving for Lyft. He completed all his paper work and is supposedly an official driver. Today was his first day. He went to the Philadelphia airport and saw that there were 89 Lyft cars ahead of him. So he sat, and sat, and sat and after two hours he got a notice that he missed his turn. He didn’t get any call or notification so he doesn’t even know what he did wrong, and there is no one to contact. Needless to say he and I are frustrated. How can a business be run successfully if the employees get no training instruction when they are hired? Do u know anything about this?

  12. I have just signed up for Lyft and can’t figure out how to complete my registration. This should be a slam dunk. But it’s not intuitive at all. Most importantly, the Customer Service phone number is absolutely useless. Why do they even post it? It’s an automated answer saying “call 911 if it’s an emergency” otherwise visit the help.lyft.com site. Which if I could have found the answers I was looking for I wouldn’t have had to call Customer Service! My sister and brother-in-law swear by Lyft so I was excited to be able to download the app on my new android phone. Obviously, Lyft is more customer friendly to California based folks … I am awaiting step-by-step instructions via email (although that took a while as well). I won’t be using Lyft tonight.

    • I think you’d need access to the account. Sounds like you might need to change the credit card number if it’s still linked an account you don’t want charges from.

  19. I was in a hurry to schedule lyft to go to the train station and selected share ride. I did not want that just me so please refund any fees for that to me. Also the share option should not be the first one you list which causes mistakes by passengers to select the first one.

  57. For the last two years LYFT has contacted me many times via email stating that my bank information needs to be updated in order for them to pay me. I have sent many emails stating that I lost my bank card, and that Lyft was deducting more than 20% of the amount of fees from each ride. I had to replaced my card. I have tried to log into my account many times to update my account. However, it continues to state that my email information does match LYFT’S records.   60. Actually you can’t Reward Boss, unless your issue falls into a specific category that they have approved. If you attempt to send an email following the instructions above they make you select topics from a list, then an more defined topic, then a specific topic until finally if your issue isn’t listed, you can not proceed. If you call the saftey hotline they will call you back, but if you are not reporting an accident or a specific saftey issue, they refer you to the endless loop email.

    For example, I got angry when a driver drove away without stopping to pick me up, and I call ed them a name as they drove away. So they suspended my account until they could review the facts with me. they sent me an email telling me they were trying to reach me, and they gave me a phone number that I have to call between 6:30 am and 2:30 PM Sunday through Thursday (how random is that?) When I call I just get a voice mail and I leave my number and they never call back. When i reply by email I get no response. in another week, I get the same email again, and again I can not speak to anyone but the voice mail and they don’t respond to the email.

    OK, I shouldn’t have called the driver a name, but they seriously need to make it possible to speak to some one.

    • Have you tried contacting them on social media? The emails can get frustrating, I know. If you selected the option for email I’m a passenger -> Something happened during my ride -> Feedback on Driver -> then one of those options. Choose the option that fits the most. Then it lets you click “Call me” or “Email”.

  63. How can I block a driver after a day after the ride. This driver acted paranoid and kept me in his car talking for 15 mins after the ride was over. I don’t want him ever again. Made me uncomfortable

  65. Being a wounded vet I recently rode with a nasty driver with a very bad attitude from Lyft. I have a service dog who helps me walk and he did nothing but bitch and complain the whole trip about the dog hair getting on his seat. We had scheduled a pickup and another stop and when I stopped he bitched and complain and told me to hurry up. If it happens again I will never ride with Lyft ever. I asked them to contact me but they haven’t I don’t really think they give a damn.

  67. And these comments are perfect examples of the ability of the general public to comprehend what they’ve just read. I read maybe the first 8 comments and 7 of them think they are contacting Lyft directly and don’t seem to know they’ve just read a blog about Lyft. Which also means they didn’t either understand or read any of the comments before trying to “contact lyft” and placing their private phone number on a public forum! It’s sad really because this is a likely accurate representation of the general American public and education system.

  68. Scheduled pick up for our cruise and they never responded so we texted UBER got a ride right away. Otherwise may have missed our cruise. Very disappointed and now will rely on UBER not Lyft

Therefore, my ride was cancelled by the lyft driver. Now I am being charged for a ride that I never received. Please refund the money to my account.

  70. I take lyft about 6 times a month to pasadena from hollywood and for the 2nd time I was charged 58.00 which is riduculous the normal is about 28.00 you can be assured that i will never take a lift again i am going over to uber, I don’t expect to get a reply but my phone is xxxxxxxx

    • Here’s how you can contact the driver if it happened less than 24 hours ago.
      Open the app, Tap the menu icon in the top-left corner, Tap ‘Ride history,’ then select the ride you lost your item in
      Scroll to the bottom, then tap ‘Find Lost Item’, Tap ‘Call’ to give your driver a phone call, Tap ‘Send Message’ to send a text.

    I’m have a problem with Lyft, I order a ride and it never shows up. I call my work wages and you all have been taking monies out my account but no ride, I need you to reimburse monies back to my account. I doesn’t show on my ride history, but my work wages states this came off my card.
    $13.71 ON 10/28/2019 and $15.79 on 10/30/2019.
    I don’t understand how money can come out my account and you all keep kicking me out the que, and charge me at the same time.
    Can someone answer this question for me

  74. I will be cancelling LYFT immediately. This decision is based upon their stance on our second amendment. Announcing free rides to students going to anti-gun Rally’s.

    If you care about doing business with a company that supports your rights being infringed upon – I recommend you do the same. They are now in the same sewer as Levi jeans, in my book.

  75. Hi on Deccember 20th, 2019. I called Lyft for a ride to Newark Airport to West Palm Beach. The driver got to my house in Sparta 25 to 30 minutes later which made me loss my flight. I had to take another flight with Jet Blue which ended up costing me $435.00 more for one way.
    I need my $38.00 you charged me plus the tips. It was my first time riding with you. I need your refund ASAP. Otherwise, it will be my last one!!!

    • They won’t refund you for this. I would suggest leaving earlier next time — delays happen with any car service not just Lyft. Better to arrive earlier and not have to stress out about it.

      • I have a problem that needs to be resolved. If it some odd reason it has me living in Dallas under my contact info instead of Houston. And I have can’t find a way to change it on my own. I’m not referring to my shipping into, I am talking about my initial contact info period. Is there any way to fix this problem?
