  1. Hi,

I have a lot of credit cards, and I don’t want to get too many more. What is the one card with the best rewards. I already have an AAdvantage Mastercard (got 30K for signing up) and a Capital One Visa with 1.5 miles per dollar. I don’t have an American Express card, so that would be nice.

    Thanks

    • Hey G,
My personal favorite is the Starwood American Express. Here’s a link for an offer where you get 25k. I got 30k last year (which doesnt happen often) but this is still very good if you don’t want to wait. You’ll have to spend $5k in the first 6 months to get all the points. The 1st year’s fee is waived. If you are not trying to reach platinum, you can cancel after the first year and keep the points. I keep it because it gives me 2 stays credit towards keeping my platinum. I put as much spending on this card as possible to earn points because they are a great value when you book rooms using ‘cash and points’. You can book a nice room on points only but you’ll burn most of the points with 1 or 2 nights. Be careful, if a hotel room is under $100, its often better to pay cash than use valuable points.

PS – I got the AA card about 1.5 yrs ago and got 75k miles. If you have extra cards you don’t use, like the AA card, I would cancel some of them SLOWLY. Some cards you can sign up again after a year or 2 and get the bonus again. But do it SLOWLY and monitor your credit score. You can do a lot of damage if you do things too quickly.
