British Airways Visa Bonus 100,000 Avios

Finally, the big British Airways Visa Bonus offer is back and is a great offer if you can manage the big spend!

The bonuses offered starts at 50k Avios with $2k spend, plus an extra 25k or 50k Avios if you spend $10k or $20 within the first year. The typical bonus offer was 50k Avios. This is a much better offer only if you can manage the big spend and go for the 75k or full 100k Avios. I wrote about a similar offer for a big 100k Avios bonus back in 2013. I was hoping this offer would come back one day!

• 50,000 bonus Avios after spending $2,000 on purchases in the first 3 months
  • + 25,000 bonus Avios after spending $10,000 on purchases in the first year (total of 75,000 Avios)

• Annual fee $95 (not waived)

WORTH IT?

If you can manage the spend then it is worth it, especially for the 100,000 Bonus points. British Air Avios will soon become more valuable due the October 1, 2015 Amex-Avios transfer devaluation (currently 1,000 Amex points = 1,000 Avios, after Oct 1, 1,000 Amex = only 800 Avios).

Avios points are amazing…if you use them correctly! When using Avios, remember this: do not use them on British Airways metal because of all the fuel surcharges. Avios are best used for short distances. For example, Avios can help you get around Peru cheaply: check out all the flights I got for only 4500 Avios each. Fly NYC to Miami for only 15,000 Avios round trip. NYC t0 Montreal only 9,000 round trip.
